Your privacy is sacred to us. This Privacy Policy explains how Dharma Lock ("we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application and website. By using Dharma Lock, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Information We Collect

Dharma Lock is designed with minimal data collection in mind. We do not collect your name, email address, or IP address through the app itself.

The following information may be collected automatically to support app functionality and performance:

  • Crash logs and diagnostic data (via Apple's diagnostics tools)
  • App usage data such as screen views and time spent in the app (via Apple and RevenueCat)
  • Device information such as device model, iOS version, and language settings
  • Subscription status and purchase history (via RevenueCat)
  • Spiritual preference — your chosen deity for puja personalization (stored locally on your device)

If you join our waitlist via our website, we collect your email address solely for the purpose of notifying you of our launch.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Monitor and improve app performance and stability
  • Diagnose bugs and crashes
  • Understand general user behavior to improve the app experience
  • Manage your subscription and process payments through RevenueCat
  • Notify waitlist members of our launch (email only)

All analytics data is anonymized and is never used for advertising or sold to third parties.

Third-Party Services

Dharma Lock relies on the following trusted third-party providers to operate the app and website:

  • Apple App Store & Analytics — for purchases, diagnostics, and usage insights
  • RevenueCat — for subscription management and payment processing
  • Supabase — for secure storage of waitlist email addresses
  • Apple Screen Time API — for app locking functionality

These providers may collect anonymized data according to their own privacy practices. No personally identifiable information is intentionally transmitted to or sold by these services for advertising.

AI-Generated Content

Dharma Lock may use artificial intelligence to assist in generating personalized prayers and devotional content. This content is created based on your selected deity and interaction preferences. No prayer input or personal spiritual data is permanently stored on external servers or shared with third parties.

Data Storage & Security

App preferences and spiritual settings are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to our servers. Waitlist email addresses are stored securely using Supabase, with encryption in transit and at rest.

We retain waitlist email addresses until you request deletion or until the app launches and the waitlist is closed, whichever comes first.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
  • Right to deletion — request that we delete your data
  • Right to opt-out — opt out of any future data collection
  • Right to portability — request your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@dharmalock.app. We will process your request within 7 days.

Since Dharma Lock does not require user accounts, there is no profile to delete. To remove your waitlist email, simply contact us and we will delete it promptly.

GDPR — European Users

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Our legal basis for processing your data is your consent, which you provide by using the app or joining our waitlist.

You have the right to withdraw consent at any time, request data portability, and lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

CCPA — California Users

If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, and the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information.

Children's Privacy

Dharma Lock is rated 4+ on the App Store. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware of unintentional data collection from a child, we will delete it promptly. Parents or guardians who believe their child has provided personal information may contact us at support@dharmalock.app.

Cookies & Tracking

Our website (dharmalock.com) does not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics. The app itself does not use cookies. Device identifiers may be used by Apple and RevenueCat for subscription management purposes only.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected with a new Effective Date at the top of this page. Where possible, we will notify users of material changes. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
